  • Le Planteur Restaurant

    Established in 1997, this highly-regarded fine dining restaurant is situated in a beautifully landscaped garden within proximity of the city center. The historic red brick manor dates back to the start of the British period; carefully restored to its original form, the building comprises a blend of colonial design with charming Myanmar influences. The skilled chefs serve a selection of creative dishes, incorporating influences of modern European and Indochine cuisine.

  • House of Memories

    Visitors are welcomed like family to this eatery, set within a colonial-style building, well over a century old. The restaurant, aptly named, graces the former residence of the Nath Family, still featuring various pieces of memorabilia. Traditional Myanmar food is the highlight here, along with a variety of Chinese and Western-style dishes. Select from a large array of rice dishes including coconut, butter, and sour rice options, accompanying your choice of meat and vegetables. Live acoustic music is performed each night from 20:00hrs.

    The Belmond Governor’s Residence houses a range of eateries serving some of Myanmar’s exotic delicacies. The Mandalay Restaurant is surrounded by tropical gardens with lotus ponds; an ideal place to experience typical local dishes blended with subtle spices, as well as a selection of European specialties.

  • Shwe Sa Bwe

    The kitchen of this social enterprise is serviced by young, underprivileged students of the Shwe Sa Bwe in-house culinary school. All the proceeds of the restaurant go back into the training facilities, administration costs, and wages for the students. At times mistaken for simply being a good cause, the French cuisine will impress with twists of Asian influence. The three-course set menu is changed regularly, but there is always a delicious selection of dishes on offer.

  • Padonmar Restaurant

    Among the finest restaurants serving authentic Myanmar cuisine; Padonmar’s chefs are able to retain the flavor of home recipes while satisfying the needs of the health-conscious. No preservatives (M.S.G) guaranteed; typical Myanmar and Thai dishes are prepared using minimal amounts of oil, making this a popular dining spot for tourists and locals alike. The age-old tradition of Myanmar hospitality is “the more oil found in the curry, the more welcome you are,” however these days more and more locals are becoming conscious of healthy cooking.

  • Shan Yoe Yar Restaurant

    Housed in a newly remodeled teak colonial building, Shan Yoe Yar is one of Yangon’s premier choices for local cuisine.  The warm and inviting interior features wicker furniture, pleasant lighting, and tasteful artwork. Specializing in the cuisine of the Shan State’s unique culture, favorites include San See or sticky rice noodles; pounded soybeans mixed with seasoning, known as Pal Pote, and Inle Wat Thar Chat – a popular Inle Lake Pork Curry. Shan cuisine integrates a healthy mix of herbs and produces, making this one of the freshest and most nutritious culinary options in Myanmar.

  • L'Opera Italian Restaurant & Bar

    The city’s premier Italian restaurant, renowned for consistency in authentic Italian cuisine, dishes are meticulously prepared using fresh local ingredients and finest imported products. L’Opera is ideally situated in the romantic surrounds of Inya Lake, in a colonial building, set within beautiful gardens. The menu offers a selection of homemade pastas, wood-fire oven pizzas, Italian cold meats and cheeses, and more.     Became one of those instantly classic restaurants in Yangon when it opened its doors in 2014 as a pioneer of the blossoming contemporary-take-on-Burmese-teashop-fare business. Combining with a variety of Myanmar tea, typical food, and snacks, Yangon Tea house is situated in a colonial building mansion. Offering a wide selection of tea blends from different corners of Myanmar; It’s famous for Myanmar’s national dish “Mohinga” , Biryani, Salads and Curries. A range of dining options is available including Myanmar style finger food, fresh oven bakes, a variety of desserts, as well as a restaurant serving delicious Indian food as well.
